A taste of Palm Beach
When in Sydney, i highly recommend a trip to the Norther Beaches. The Northern most suburbs where wearing bikinis and board-shorts is a common sighting, where the beaches are our second home and where the infamous "Summer Bay" resides (for all those Home and Away addicts).
The most scenic and spectacular day trips is (if coming from sydney city) to catch the ferry from Circular Quay to the stunning Manly Beach. You can then venture further north via buses or car weaving in and out of the magnificent beaches.
Manly Beach
Narrabeen - known for its surfing competitions and aqua waters is only 20 minutes from Manly.
A further 30 minutes from Narrabeen, is the Northern most point of Sydneys coast - Palm Beach. Featuring in every episode of 'Home and Away' it isn't rare to catch the crew filming a few scenes. The wharf that plays a major role can too be found here. This being roughly the half way point in the trip, a spot of lunch can be found at 'The Boat House' - a highly reputable and affordable cafe, which is too located on the "Summer Bay" wharf.
Perfect for lunch, a coffee or an event, the Boat Shed is in a waterfront location with a top view. The industrial/chic restaurant sells a range of well priced meals as well as flowers and a few small home decorating items. More information on 'The Boat House' can be found at their website - http://www.theboathousepb.com.au/
I highly recommend the trip, it will be very worthwhile! If you have any questions or want more information on the area, let me know :)

Audrey Fix
Looking for an old fashioned chick flick, that inspires the modern day woman in each of us? What better than a fix of Audrey Hepburn ruling the roost of the New York social life - Breakfast at Tiffany's!
The film represents many aspects of a woman's personality, and a driven desire to live our dreams. Featuring the elegant Tiffany and Co., any girls heart is set to drop well before George Peppard even hits the screen. The film, made in 1961 is build the foundations for any girls dreams and aspirations of one day becoming a glamorous New Yorker.

Recycle and Re-use!!
This morning on my way home from a walk i was beginning to have a quick look at the rubbish piles lining the streets ready for the community clean up. Twice a year, the local council organises the garbage trucks to come around to every street in the area and collect any rubbish for free! Any items can be placed in the rubbish piles, except for paints and electrical such as TVs and computers (as we have a separate clean up day for those items). So i turned in to my street and over the weekend the small piles of garbage bags grew to a massive pile of old couches, TV cabinets, pots, bar stools, curtains, bean bags, suitcases and so much more! Having initially ignored all these junk piles, to my dismay i came across two items that i just had to have! I managed to find an old tailors mannequin and a wooden kids chair, both in a beautiful aquamarine blue, suited perfectly to my room!
I started by giving both of the items a good clean, using a brush, a vacuum and a good bit of elbow grease. I then put them in to place in my bedroom, where i will be using the mannequin as a small garment holder for necklaces, brooches, and scarves and the the chair as a lounge-side table!
I also found a few wooden pallets to use for the bed i will be making, its a work in progress but i will be sure to post up some photos of the finished product and a few photos from along the way! If you would like to know more about great uses for wooden pallets one of my older entries can help you with that :)
So instead of going out and buying yourself a brand new piece of furniture be sure to check the charity stores such as 'Vinnies' or 'The Salvation Army' or a local tip shop because it sure can help you save some money and the process fixing something old is not only a self achievement but its helping the environment!

smile!
Have you ever taken out a picture from when you were little and just stared at it, remembering even the tiniest details of that day? In that one second when the shutter opens and a stain is left on a memory card or a roll of film is one of the most unforgettable moments in your life whether you know it or not, because there will always be that one photo to look back on and remember even the smallest details of that day - whether it be what you did after the photo was taken or what you had for dinner that night, or a simple joke but the most important thing is, you remember you. You have to remember the person in the photo no matter what because that one day when you are looking back on it, just knowing how much you have grown can give you the courage to keep going and see who you will turn out to be and to just keep going to make sure there is another picture.
Not only is a picture worth a thousand words, it's worth a thousand memories and it's those memories mean a thousand words.
"Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through for you
Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile"
